Probable Causes Of An Ulcer

What may lead to ulcer also vary from person to person, but one common cause is the imbalance between digestive fluids produced in the stomach and duodenum. Although we can’t claim for one cause but one of the following may be a reason.

ü  Helicobacter Pylori bacterial infection leads to ulcer

ü  Excessive use of some drugs like painkillers called non-steroidal anti inflammatory (NSAID), such as aspirin, naproxen, ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil, Midol, and others) and even safety coated aspirin results in ulcer.

ü  Excess acid production from gastrinomas which damages the protective walls of intestine

Ulcer is a decease which can be cured with simple care and change of diet or minor adjustments in daily lifestyle. But it if ignored or prolonged will end up into many complications and the minimum would be spreading the poison in your whole body once it gets busted.

How To Diagnose Ulcer

A doctor may become able to diagnose if you are having ulcer or simple stomach infection as the early stages of ulcer may not be easily identifiable without conducting proper medical tests. If the doctor senses it to be more than simple heart burning or stomach infection then you must start using some acid blocking medication for a short period of time so as to see if the symptoms improve.

Most common medical examination method used for ulcer diagnostics is endoscopy. If the cause is not likely to be from NSAIDs, then it is very likely to be from H. pylori. Many doctors will now test for and treat H. pylori, in addition to giving medications to reduce the symptoms.
